Navigo: which contactless device to choose?

Which vouchers are available on contactless media?

How do I know which medium I have?

  • Navigo Discovery Pass

For more information on this medium, we invite you to consult the section dedicated to the Navigo Découverte pass.

  • Personalized Navigo passes

There are several types of nominative passes, known as "personalised", bearing the surname, first name and photo of the holder of the pass:

  • The Navigo pass
  • The annual Navigo pass
  • The Navigo pass imagines R

Recognizing your past is very simple: just check the letter on the back of your pass:

  • If it's an I (or the logo imagines R for the old passes): then it's a Navigo pass imagines R
  • If it's A (or the word Intégrale for the old passes): then it's an Annual Navigo pass
  • If there is no letter: then it's a Navigo pass (plain and simple!)

Where can I travel with my support?

It depends on the title you load on this your media. For more information, please visit the ticket presentation page.

Can I use my stand for other mobility services?

Your personalised Navigo or Navigo Découverte pass allows you to access Véligo bike lockers, Vélib self-service bikes, and certain park-and-ride facilities, provided you have taken out a subscription with these mobility services.

How long does a contactless stand last?

The lifespan of a contactless stand is 10 years.

You will receive the information that your personalised Navigo pass has expired or is about to expire in your personal online space, at an RATP or SNCF vending machine.

A new pass will be sent to you free of charge by post a few days before the end of your pass's validity. Remember to check your postal address in your personal space.

If you have not received your new pass, and your current pass has expired, you can go to a branch where you will be given a new pass free of charge.

Why do I have to validate each time I enter/climb?

To travel, the user of a Navigo pass must have previously loaded it with a ticket and validated it on the carriers' validation devices before each journey when entering the network and/or boarding the vehicle, but also, if applicable, during connections and exit, under penalty of being in violation.

This validation allows us to have a better knowledge of passenger flows and the number of passengers on the lines, which is essential for adapting the regional transport offer and the fare offer as closely as possible to reality.

How does a ticket check work?

During a check, you must present your Navigo pass on which the ticket validated for the journey is loaded. The rules of use and control are described in the T&Cs of each title.
