In 2026, we celebrate the centenary of Claude Monet's death. What if you took the opportunity to discover Argenteuil through the eyes of the famous impressionist painter?
It was here that Monet lived with his family between 1871 and 1878 and painted many canvases inspired by the city's landscapes, bridges and the banks of the Seine. To find the places that marked this period, follow the new Impressionist route in Argenteuil: signs mark out the walk and allow you to discover the places where the painter set up his easel. This route was inaugurated on the occasion of European Heritage Days and will be available until December.
Want to extend the visit? Push open the doors of the Impressionist House, where the painter lived with his family. Thanks to an immersive tour, immerse yourself in his daily life and discover the landscapes that inspired his works, as well as a winter garden reconstructed from his paintings.
Good to know: the outdoor course is free. A visit to the Impressionist House costs €5 per adult, €3.50 at a reduced rate (especially for 12-26 year olds and over 65 years old) and is free for children under 12. A cultural visit at a low price to complete your walk!
