Closure of the northern axis of the RER B from 12 to 14 August: passengers, postpone your trips
To allow the RER B to gain flexibility in the event of incidents on its lines (passenger incidents, breakdowns, etc.), traffic will be exceptionally interrupted from 12 to 14 August 2023 inclusive for work carried out by SNCF Réseau. A traffic interruption that will also be an opportunity to carry out some of the work necessary for the deployment of the CDG Express shuttle.
All stations between Paris Nord and Mitry-Claye inclusive and between Paris Nord and Aulnay-sous-Bois (in the direction of Charles de Gaulle airport) willnot be served throughout the period.
Closure of the northern branch of the RER B: reinforced buses and carpooling offered to all Ile-de-France residents
Faced with this exceptional situation, the prefecture of the Île-de-France Region, Île-de-France Mobilités, Transilien Voyageurs and SNCF Réseau invite all those who can to postpone their trip.
Despite maximum mobilization and the implementation of replacement buses during the three days of closure, it remains impossible to transport all the usual passengers of the RER B by road.
For passengers unable to postpone their trips, an exceptional system to strengthen the regular offer and alternative transport will be put in place with:
- More than 600 buses divided into four lines that will serve the exceptionally closed stations,
- The reinforcement of regular bus lines,
- Free carpooling for ALL Ile-de-France residents, without the need to hold a transport subscription
Carpooling offered every August 12, 13 and 14
During the interruption of traffic on the northern axis of the RER B on 12, 13 and 14 August, Île-de-France Mobilités is offering carpooling to all passengers, even without a Navigo subscription.
Which stops will serve the four alternative bus lines deployed for the closure of the northern axis of the RER B?
- Line B2 : will run between Aulnay-sous-Bois <> La Courneuve-Aubervilliers in 40 minutes,
- Line B3 : will cover the needs between Stade de France <> Mitry-Claye by being an omnibus between Aulnay-sous-Bois and Mitry in 50 minutes (from Mitry-Claye) and 40 minutes (from Aulnay-sous-Bois),
- Line B4 : will go directly to the stations of Aulnay-sous-Bois <> Stade de France in 40 minutes. At the heart of rush hour, a bus will leave every 40 seconds,
- Line B5 : will allow passengers from Charles de Gaulle airport to reach the RER D station of Stade de France Saint Denis in 50 minutes.
Closure of the northern axis of the RER B: what impacts on traffic?
On the RER B line
While the works will require the exceptional closure of line B between the stations of Paris Gare du Nord <> Mitry-Claye and Paris Gare du Nord <> Aulnay-sous-Bois in the direction of Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, trains will run between:
- The south of the line , i.e. all stops after Paris Gare du Nord,
- The underground lines of Paris Gare du Nord,
- A replacement shuttle will serve the stops between Aulnay-sous-Bois <> CDG 2 Airport

On Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 August 2023, no trains will run between Paris Gare du Nord <> Mitry-Claye.
Trains will run between:
- Mitry-Claye <> Crépy-en-Valois.
- Replacement buses will be set up between Paris Gare du Nord <> Compans.
TER service on the Paris-Laon line
Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 August 2023:
- No trains will run on the usual tracks, between Paris Gare du Nord <> Mitry-Claye
- Some trains will be diverted via Ormoy-Villers and Creil, with longer travel times.
