The two carpooling services in Île-de-France

To respond to the diversity of uses and territories, Île-de-France Mobilités has developed two complementary forms of carpooling:

  • Networked ("planned") carpooling: The traveller books his journey via the "Covoit IDFM" application, indicating his point of departure and point of arrival. The application suggests an itinerary and puts the passenger in touch with a driver, especially for home-work or home-study trips. The service is available throughout the region.
  • Carpooling lines: The traveller goes to a physical stop, without prior reservation, reports via the application or by SMS, and waits for a driver to pass. This operation is similar to that of a bus, with stops materialized in the public space.

Carpooling can save a driver up to €200!
