The relay bus, how does it work in the event of a traffic interruption?

No tram, don't panic, the relay buses provide the service!

When the T9 tram cannot serve part of the route, we recommend that you take an alternative route to continue your journey or refer to the relay bus service when it is set up.

Audio announcements in the station as well as a message on the information screens will tell you which sections are affected and whether a replacement bus service is triggered.

Before and during any journey, in particular during disrupted situations (roadworks, demonstrations, etc.) on your lines, we invite you to anticipate your journeys and to consult the real-time information channels (Ile-de-France Mobilités app) to follow the evolution of the service.

Recommended option: choose alternative routes

In the event of disruptions, the most effective solution to continue your journey is to take an alternative route. You can find a personalised route using the route planner on the Ile-de-France Mobilités website.

These recommendations take into account any tram stations that are not served in order to offer you an up-to-date and reliable alternative to continue your journey.

Option #2: Take a Relay Bus When It's Running

Relay buses are buses put into service on all or part of the tram line in order to maintain a travel solution when the T9 tram is interrupted for several hours.

How does it work?

  • A relay bus replaces the tramway on the section that is no longer served by it.
  • All the stations on the part concerned are served by relay buses, unless otherwise indicated
  • The relay bus service is provided until the normal resumption of the line.

When will the relay bus arrive?

  • The number of buses mobilized is adapted according to the nature and extent of the interruption, so the frequency of passage varies according to the situation.
  • However, they are subject to traffic conditions to reach the part of the line concerned and when serving the stations, so we thank you for your patience.

Where is the care provided?

  • You can take the relay buses at the N31 night bus stops located near the stations.
  • In the absence of a bus stop nearby (Christophe Colomb, Les Saules and Orly Gaston Viens stations), the pick-up is at the yellow ground markings near the stations.
  • For the terminus at Porte de Choisy, the ascent stop towards Orly is located at the Henri Ey hospital at the front of the station.

A poster is present in each station with a map of where to take the relay bus. Find all this information by resort below.
