The South Sector

(10)The development of the Place Séjourné
The Place Séjourné will be redeveloped to meet the increase in the number of users: the creation of a bus station and the reconstruction of the park-and-ride facility to the south of the Pole will attract a larger number of users.
The square will become a privileged living space for cyclists and will host: bicycle racks, a second Île-de-France Mobilités bicycle parking (40 spaces) and a building for bicycle rental. An access ramp will be created on Place Séjourné for cyclists wishing to join the future green corridor in the direction of Dammarie-les-Lys (project related to the Pôle de Melun).
The square will be fitted out with similar materials to the north and south of the Pole.
(11)The creation of a southern forecourt
On the Place de l'Ermitage, the bus departure stops will be located as close as possible to the entrance to the station. Current functionalities will be preserved, requalified and enhanced. Thus, existing shops will gain in legibility and comfort thanks to a more qualitative forecourt, while a space for the market will still be allocated on the forecourt.
(12)The reconfiguration of the South Bus Station
Currently, all the buses of the Seine-et-Marne Express network terminate on rue de l'Industrie, leading to double or even triple lane parking. To compensate for the lack of space, a redesign of the public space of the Place de l'Ermitage is proposed.
On the current location of the car park and garden, the bus station will include passenger drop-off platforms, a driver's room, a pedestrian path, a cycle link, and planted spaces. This area will be used both for dropping off passengers and for parking vehicles during their break time. Passengers will be picked up systematically along the RD 606, in the immediate vicinity of the exit of the new underpass.

(13)The reconstruction of the park-and-ride facility
The Melun Regional Car Park (PSR), built in 1976, has 664 parking spaces spread over four levels (R+3). As the car park is saturated, partially closed to the public, and requires heavy rehabilitation work, a reconstruction into a park-and-ride was preferred, allowing its capacity to be increased (R+5, 950 spaces).
