The northern sector

Global view of the north forecourt and the north bus station – Development intentions

(7)The redevelopment of the north forecourt

The north forecourt will be a pleasant place to live thanks to a qualitative treatment of the public space (street furniture, greenery, bicycle racks, etc.).
It will be redeveloped to make pedestrian and cyclist traffic safer. Thus, to limit conflicts and reduce motorist flows, part of the traffic will be diverted and the passage of trucks will be prohibited. The forecourt will constitute a shared area in order to make it a peaceful space and encourage the movement of active modes (pedestrians, bicycles).
Drop-off spaces are provided to the north of the square and on Avenue Gallieni to avoid "uncontrolled" parking.

(8)The reconfiguration of the northern bus station and the reorganisation of bus services

A large part of the northern sector is dedicated to the circulation of buses of the Melibus network. Buses will drop passengers off on the north forecourt: the stops will be located as close as possible to the main entrance of the station, in order to guarantee fast, simple and safe connections with trains.
The bus station was reconfigured and resized to meet increasing travel and the arrival of the T Zen 2. It will house a platform assigned to the T Zen 2, 9 bus platforms of the Melibus network as well as a waiting area and a comfortable 5-metre-wide pavement, allowing passengers to wait comfortably for their bus.

(9)The creation of a regulation zone for buses

The regulation area, in the extension of the bus station, will accommodate buses during their break time.
