Versailles bus operations centre

Île-de-France Mobilités is building a new Bus Operational Centre (COB) in Versailles Saint-Cyr. This project, worth more than €34 million, financed entirely by Île-de-France Mobilités, is part of a High Environmental Quality approach, with an architectural design that respects the municipality's heritage. Landscaping is planned, as well as responsible rainwater management through underground basins

The future bus operations centre (COB) in Versailles will be able to accommodate a fleet of 140 electric buses (112 standard buses and 28 long midibuses) with improved maintenance conditions compared to current conditions.  The aim of this project is to offer a modern, comfortable and pleasant working environment to the 450 employees who will work there, so that they can carry out their driving, maintenance and regulation missions in good conditions.

A perfect integration into the Versailles heritage

By setting up the new Bus Operations Centre in the foothills of the Bois de Satory, the project reconnects with the history of Versailles to meet the requirements of the post-carbon century.

The project thus chooses a larger territory of exploration: to transform a technical infrastructure into an architecture that blends into the landscape, sculpted in the topography, dressed in stone and earthen concrete, invisible from the estate.

Fonctionnelle et tellurique, discrète et ambitieuse, l'architecture reprend les marqueurs du patrimoine et du paysage versaillais tout en offrant un cadre de travail optimal et adaptable à ses futurs usagers.
