What is the CNDP?

Published on

The National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP) is an independent administrative authority created in 1995 by the Barnier Law. A collegiate body composed of 25 members from different backgrounds, thus ensuring its independence (administrations, associations, employers, trade unions, etc.), its role is to ensure that public participation is respected in the process of developing projects, plans and programmes that have an impact on the environment, and present strong socio-economic issues: energy transition, mobility, industries, etc. As close as possible to citizens, the CNDP is present throughout the national territory through its regional representatives (delegates) and its 250 guarantors responsible for ensuring public information and participation. For this project, it has appointed three guarantors responsible for ensuring the sincerity of the information and the quality of the participation: Nathalie Durand, Marie-Liane Schützler and Caroline Werkoff, who can be reached at [email protected]
