Will the extension of the T13 tram generate noise or vibrations?
Updated on
The tramway is a low-noise mode of transport. The vibrations when a train passes by are also of very low amplitude. Inserted along busy roads or along the tracks of the national rail network, the extension of the T13 Tram will not change the pre-existing sound environment. The acoustic study confirms that the project complies with the relevant regulations .
In Poissy, at the eastern end of Rue Adrienne Bolland, homes will however find themselves more exposed than today to the noise of the nearby railway tracks, due to the removal of buildings necessary to insert the tramway. They are expected to benefit from acoustic protection, particularly on the façade. The green screen that currently separates the houses from the railway tracks will also be recreated. An anti-noise wall will also be installed around the Charles Péguy nursery school located on Avenue Fernand Lefebvre.
The track-laying technique for the T13 Tram extension will be adapted according to the distance between the tram line and neighbouring buildings, in order to preserve the sound and vibration environment of the territories crossed.
