What is its role?
Cable is an innovative means of transport that has the advantage of being able to cross urban breaks (railways, motorways, rivers) or hills, without having to build bridges or tunnels. It is cheaper to build than a tram and is not dependent on car traffic: it cannot be stuck in traffic jams.
With a cabin about every 30 seconds, it is a regular piece of equipment, particularly quiet and accessible to people with disabilities. Comfortable, cable travel must be done sitting on one of the ten seats in each cabin.
Inaugurated in December 2025, the C1 cable is the longest urban cable car in Europe and the 1st in Île-de-France.

Imagined in the 2010s to respond to the isolation of certain territories in the south-east of the Ile-de-France region, the C1 cable was born out of the desire to overcome major urban breaks (railway lines, national roads). Its principle: to offer a direct and efficient air link where surface transport was saturated or constrained.
Through the key stages, the project has come to fruition to transform local mobility:
- 2016
Launch of preliminary studies and public consultation.
- 2022
Start of preparatory work and installation of the first pylons.
- 2023
Installation of the stations and installation of the cabling system.
- 2025
Commissioning of the C1 cable (Créteil Pointe du Lac ↔ Villa Nova).
Today, the C1 cable carries thousands of passengers every day, connecting 4 municipalities in the Val-de-Marne and playing a pioneering role in the ecological transition of transport in the region.

- The C1 cable is accessible with an imagine R, monthly or annual Navigo subscription, at no additional cost.
- Access to cable C1 is free for children under 4 years old, half-fare between 4 and 10 years old and full price beyond 4 years old.
